CompTIA Security+ Certified!
Last week I passed by CompTIA Security+ exam! I had a total of 82 questions including 4 performance based questions. The only topic to catch me off-guard was a question about DNS. Overall, it was a pretty straightforward exam and I felt better going into this exam than my Network+. My strategy for the exam was to finish all multiple choice questions first with an answer. Then I went back to answer performance based questions. After that I spent time reviewing the entire exam. I finished with about 20 minutes left; I used this time to review the exam one final time.
What’s next?
My Cybersecurity bootcamp with Springboard will finish up in the next two weeks. I am working on polishing up my resume, cover letter, LinkedIn, etc. I am starting to look for careers in Cybersecurity. My ideal title is Cybersecurity Analyst or Global Threats Analyst; I would like to work in a SOC or on a team responding to global threats. Ideally I would like to work for a MSSP. I believe these titles and companies will benefit from my experience and allow me to thrive and better master my technical skills.
Outside of the job hunt I plan to continue to work on CTFs, my home lab, and working on my technical skills. I plan to do a CTF write-up here shortly and give an update on what I have been doing with my home lab.
Cheers!
